Teacher Training Workshops to take place in September

Workshops will be held in Greece, UK, Italy, Hungary, France, Finland, Belgium and Romania in September to prepare teachers taking part in the pilot.
These workshops will include plenty of hands-on practice for the teachers to try out the various applications possible with the new EduTubePlus system. The system allows teachers to access professionally produced video clips, to upload their own user-generated video clips, to create and share learning scenarios using video clips and to access the online learning platform provided to the teachers taking part in the pilot phase.

The world's largest and arguably most prestigious international contest for educational media takes place in the NHK Broadcasting Center, Shibuya, Tokyo.
This year, the contest received 409 entries from 226 organisations from 64 countries/regions. The CrossMedia Forum provides an opportunity to experience the latest educational media and to meet other media professionals from around the world and offers many learning opportunities for people in the field of media and education. This video clip is about light pollution which has a very negative influence on humans and their environment. It describes how the change of day and night is very important for our biorhythm - we have adapted to it over thousands of years. A large number of important functions of our bodies, among others the production of hormones depend on the time of day. Permanent lighting at night - especially in cities - can lead to health problems. This clip can be used to initiate a discussion into light pollution and associated issues.

Timelines is a relatively new, high-quality resource available to schools and others interested in history with a particular emphasis on British history.
The sophisticated timeline planner provided by timelines allows visitors move between timelines to explore parallel events and has been augmented recently with the addition of a history of smallpox through time as well as journeys in the American West. Timelines also includes a rich supply of secondary resources including photos and supporting texts..
