This handbook is an outcome of the Click and Go Video Project of JISC. Click and Go Video was a project from 2000 to 2002 that aimed to provide "a user orientated resource for the academic community that will stimulate and enhance the use of moving image archives for mainstream learning and teaching. It will investigate and report on best practice in developing a video enriched learning environment through the integration of archived moving images, locally produced video, Web resources and asynchronous and synchronous communications tools."

Who is responsible for this service?
Educational Technology Services takes care of audio and video capture services. Information Systems and Technology manages the webcast database and streaming media serving/hosting infrastructure.
The webcast capture and archive technology is based on the Berkeley Internet Broadcasting System (BIBS) (http://bmrc.berkeley.edu/bibs), developed by the Berkeley Multimedia Research Center (http://bmrc.berkeley.edu).

"At its first meeting each month the Governing Council of the ECB takes its monetary policy decision for the euro area. Shortly after the meeting, the President of the ECB explains the decision in an introductory statement. This is followed by a question-and-answer session with media representatives. A few hours later the transcript of the press conference is published on this website.
The ECB offers a live webcast of the press conference. A few hours after the event the on-demand version becomes available under the same link below. Users can subscribe to receive automatically an RSS audio feed ("podcast") and RSS video feed."

Since 2001, within the ManagEnergy program, the European Commission has been developing and using a combination of multimedia and Internet based streaming technologies to enable more people throughout Europe to benefit from its activities.
From within this portal, you will watch workshops, conferences, programme information days, contract negotiations and other events broadcast live on the Internet. These are combined at times with interactive chats enabling virtual participants to ask questions at the actual event and discuss related topics amongst themselves and with Commission staff.
After the events, online video-recordings provide an easy to use, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly resource.
